Fall97 "Dutton is always saying how helpful he wants to be but treats you like you are really stupid when you go to him for help. His notes are total powerpoint so examples are hard to follow, the book sucks. Tests are ok. There is always a retest which is great Expect a b or c. Could improve by actually writing out some examples of problems and explaining them better."
Spring98 "My grade in the class was B.
Professor Dutton had a real tendency to drone on in class. He gave a lot of in class extra credit work as a way of taking attendance. Tests were pretty hard but there was always a retest. I felt like he wasn't easy to get help from."

Spring97,bus225 "If you will take only one course during your stay at NC State, then BUS225 will have to be it. I am sure that you would like to have about $1-2 millions when you retire! Then take that class to know how.
Dr. Huggard is very suited for the course, he is hillarious and uses exemples very effectively!"
Fall97, bus425 "Huggard makes class fun with all his jokes and financial info we will actually use after we are out of school but his exams are extremely hard!!! Also, he has the annoying tendency to go from one topic to another without really explaining stuff clearly."

"She is the best teacher I have had here yet. She may come across as slightly cold, but she gives a damn how the students are doing and is extremely helpful and willing to help outside of class. Not much work required out of class (I think 3-4 homeworks. Cheat sheet for exams help provide an easy A."
Fall97 "Mcdermed is an extremely boriing teacher and her exams are pretty hard despite allowing us a cheat sheet for each exam. I don't think she explains the problems well enough. The homework assignments are pretty tough too."

Spring 99 . I give this teacher a 0 out of 4, my grade in the class was C.
This guy is a pure smart-a... He makes judgements on students (in his own mind) and then treats you accordingly. He doesn't keep attendance, and he once told me that I miss too much class (I had only missed 3 or 4, and told him that 2 of those days I was truly sick)! Do not take this guy, he is a pain.

"Each one lectures for half a semester; both are decent lecturers but their tests are extremely hard! Don't take this class if you don't have to."
Fall97, Mulvey/Davis, bus350 "They both teach the class- one half the semester and the other the other half. They are very professional and have a lot to talk about but the exams are just way too hard. Why only 5% of the class receives an A I will never know because this isn't rocket science. This is a class about managing people. The really need to make the exams more reflective of the book and they need to stop putting together impossible questions on the exams. Avoid this class if you can!!!"

"Gives a lot of valuable information in an aeay to understand manner. Lots of jokes make the class great."
Spring98 BUS201 "My grade in the class was B+.
This guy may be good for small, high-level classes, but he is no good for large, introductory classes. Tests were inconsistent in difficulty, and some questions either asked about material never covered, or had controversial answers. His answer on one question directly contradicted the book, without him telling us! Only reason to attend class is occasional material not in book, and he takes attendence. At least his voice doesn't put you to sleep."

"This guy's lectures are so boring. Also his tests are poorly worded multiple choice questions that include the answers "a and b", "b and c", "a and c", "all of the above", and/or "none of the above". After suffering through over 40 of those stinkers, you get some heavy duty essay questions that you have to know just what he is looking for or you get little or no credit. This course is supposed to be an easy A course, but somebody obviously needs to inform this guy of that. I understand he hasn't taught this course in quite a while, I wonder why he bothered returning."
Class : BUS340, I took the class in Spring 2000. I give this teacher a 1 out of 4, my grade in the class was B+.
"Powell makes this class really hard. He is really boring. This class takes so much effort out of you. He gives a surprise pop quiz (total 12) so you can imagine that almost every other class there is a quiz, then you have test ( they weren't really tough, but tricky) and then these stupid computer assignments that are graded unfairly. He drops the lowest quiz and assignment grade that is about the only good thing.If you can I would recommend another teacher. "

Fall97 "Ms. Powers is laid back, teaches straight from the book. We had a project worth 50% of our grade, not too tough. Tests ok only 10% of grade. I think she is a good teacher."

Spring98 "My grade in the class was A-.
If you want to really learn marketing from a guy that tries hard to provide good examples and notes, take Voss. He's a very good speaker, and has real-world examples. His tests are pretty difficult, so you must understand the material. My main complaint was the grading of the case study report, which seemed very harsh and exacting, even for him. Still, don't be scared, a decent grade is possible with effort. But if you don't care about marketing, take another teacher."

"I enjoyed his teaching style. It has been the BEST class I have ever taken at NCSU. I feel that if I all my teachers used his teaching style I would have gotten 'A' throughout college and would not have been here as long as I have been. It's too bad I can't expect private school level education at a state university but I realize now that it's not the school but the teachers themselves.
Dr. Young gets the highest stamp of approval from me. "
Fall98 "My grade in the class was B.
Dr. Young is very entusiastic about teaching this course; however, it gets really corny. Tests are easy. Only 3 HW's out of 10 are required. Group work is 15% of the course grade, but the group simulation is stupid. This class is pretty easy, but you learn very little."
