"This is a wonderful woman, who made coming to an 8am class easy. She is very understanding, and makes the class entertaining. She doesn't allow anyone to get away with not participating. She makes sure the students do well in class giving them quizes in groups and excellent reviews. She encompasses french media and culture through music videos and movies to keep the class awake and learning."

"A very poor Spanish teacher indeed."

"Smart Guy...Not a difficult A. He is a decent planner but could improve....His tests aren't too bad and he is pretty fair in dishing out grades to hardworking students. However, if you aren't interested in spanish or french, you shouldn't take this professor because you will be required to try in order to pass the class."

"The only opinion that's right is his own. Extremely stubborn. Whatever you say or do must be in agreement with his own personal philosophy. Will not admit he is wrong."

"She's good. She can be a little boring times but seems to care a LOT about what kind of grade you make. I think of her as a grandma whooping your ass into shape in French. I like her and well I suggest you to take her."

Fall97 "SEEMS like a real jerk at first but is really is flexible. Work load is medium. Material is boring as &^%!&%& though."

Summer98 "My grade in the class was A.
Easily the best explanations of grammar I've ever had in any language. He moves quickly and demands independence outside of class, but if you can keep up, you will reap great rewards."

Susan Navey-Davis

  • "She is a great teacher. She gives many opportunities to your grades. She is very easy to understand."
  • "Ms. Navey-Davis is one of the best spanish teachers I have ever had. She can make things easy to understand and gives ample opportunities to keep your grade where you want it. Very good..."
  • Spring 98 "My grade in the class was A.
Her courses are excellent. She explains very well in class the grammar and she uses all sort of things to help student understand and learn in class. She really prepared me well for the next spanish courses. If you plan on getting a minor then she is the one to select and you won't regret it."

Fall97"Brand new on the scene here, I'm in his first-ever FLJ 101 class, and he gets high marks across the board. Lectures are fun, more handouts than you can shake a stick at, enough material to maintain interest but not enough to overwhelm. Tests are graded fairly and represent what was taught. In 2nd place, behind a tie, for best prof I've had so far here."

    Gareth Williams
    FLS 201 (Spanish)

"He's the best teacher in the foreign language dept. Funny, yet serious and his tests are fair. He adds alot of positive atmosphere to learning. The best part is that he has an English accent and it's funny when he combines it with Spanish. He's the bomb!!"

    Yoshimi Yamagata
    FLJ 101 (Japanese)

"She is excellent. She really tries to make the classs interesting and fun, and she succeeds. She also is great any helping you with any problems you might have."
