"A very boring woman. I think of her as the stereotype of a dean of a top security prison. She doesn't try to make the class fun and all she does is lecture on and on and on and on and on and on and on. Most of her tests are extremely hard, if you can't pay attention, and no one can. Her tests consist of about five pages of written material ALL done in class or you get a zero. She will make you do five summaries of articles in the book and a seven page research paper near the middle of the semester. Take my word for it and do not take her class!!!"

Fall97 "Fountain is great!! He loves history and is a great lecturer. His 2 quizzes are only moderatky difficult if you've gone to class and taken notes. He does cover a lot of material, but it's fun. The 1 paper due seems difficult, but he grades it a lot easier than the quizzes. Half of the class made A's on the paper. Highly recomended!"

"She is one of the greatest teachers I have ever had. She brings newspaper articles, comics, books , maps, cartoons, and pictures to class to help you understand everything better. There was a small group of people in the class I was in and we had class discussion a lot. Everyone I know loved her. She even invited us to her house for dinner after the last class. Great person overall. "

"Wonderful professor! You learn a lot in his class, but not that much about history. His favorite lecure is "Shit happens, you will bury your parents and you are going to have to deal with it!" He is definately entertaining and very wise."

"Ah, I hate this class. I shouldn't be The Middle Ages, it should be renamed History for Pacifists and Girls. Way to much concept, and no facts, plus you have to write two completely stupid papers and she is a bad lecturer. Avoid at ALL costs!!!"
Hi208 "Yes, her lectures are rather dull, but what do you expect? She is teaching history! If you go to class and spend any time at all on her papers, you will get an A or B. I got an A and I never read anything she assigned. Definitely my kind of teacher. Its bad enough that we engineers have to put up with these liberal classes but at least she makes it easy. I.E.-- You won't spend ANY time on Dr Pumphrey's class."

Spring 98 "My grade in the class was B.
His grading is way unfair. On the 3-part final exam I got a perfect score on the first part ("A") and B's on the other two parts. He averaged these 3 grades to give me a final exam grade of "C+", a mathematically impossible feat. When I went to see him about it he refused to change it and there wasn't much I could do about it since he was the department head."

If you are interested in learning about the history of science, don't let the name of this class fool you. Dr. Riddle gives lectures on philosophy and philosophers that have little or nothing to do with science."

"He is a good teacher, plain and simple. A very energetic lecturer that shows real interest in the subject. One thing though, be prepared to take notes, he give tons of info. No papers, non-comp final. Take his class."

"This guy's a decent teacher. We had to read part of 5 different books, and do summaries, oral presentations, etc. But now I think he only teaches it as a scholars class ..."

"He's really enterntaining. His tests consist of 4 take home essays that you have to write, though. He doesn't take attendance, but since you have to take notes in class to get information you need for tests you have to go anyways. Great class lectures...NOT boring."

Dr. Johnson= really easy and good; very nice
Tyler= good lecturer; be sure to read though, tests may surprise you
Cadell= great guy, very reasonalbe on late papers, will have to struggle for an A though
Carlton= nice guy, strict on attendence and HW assignments
Hobbes= even better than Tyler
Bohnam= just plain awful unless your the type of person who really loves pre‚1945technology; don't take this class unless you have to; and if you have to take another instructor
