"She's ok, but she covers the material better AFTER the tests."

Joni Bynum
Ma241

"Class : MA241, I took the class in Fall1999. I give this teacher a 4 out of 4, my grade in the class was A.
Ms. Bynum is a great teacher/nice person and explains things really well. She is very good about doing relevant examples in class. The tests are hard, but there are no surprises and you get partial credit."

Dr.R.E.Chandler

Fall97 "not a push over by any means but you will find that you WILL learn the material and he is very, very, fair. Will admit when he is wrong. Usually has a favorable grading curve. Reviews are similar to tests"

"Paul is a *very* smart teacher. Unfortunately, he can't explain @#$% to save his life, but he tries. If you've taken calculus before, you will make an A, but if you don't know what he's trying to teach, then you are hosed! Avoid his class if possible!"

"Dr. Franke is one of the best teachers i've had. He explains the material very well, and is willing to help out students everytime. He gives fair tests, and he also curves. He's one cool guy."

Dr. P. Hitczenko
Ma141

Fall 97 "Pawell Hitczenko is as difficult to understand as his name is to pronounce. He doesn't really lecture, he just thinks out loud. If you were to visit his class, you might think he is insane, but if you are in his class... you will know he is just not a good teacher, and horrible at explaining things or himself. I would not recommend him to anyone, EXCEPT those who plan on teaching themselves, and wasting their class time. However, he does give partial credit on tests... but the class average was still too low in my mind."

Lada
Ma107

Fall97 "I've never been that good at math, but Dr. Lada kept the class interesting. He seems a little lost at times, and he always got chalk on the back of his shirts, but he really knew what he was teaching. Tests are very straight foreward."

"Very boring, barely reviews for tests, will not let you take a quiz if you come in late because it is 'bad form'."

Spring 98 "His english is extremely bad. Compound this with bad teaching from the book and you get a horrible professor. The examples are straight from the book, but he generally manages to mess up the math on at least one a day. Be prepared to teach it to yourself. Homework, maple, and attendance all count! Find another professor if possible."

"I give this teacher a 4 out of 4, my grade in the class was A-.
Dr. McEneaney is not tremendously easy nor is he very difficult. His grading is fair and, he is always willing to answer any questions you may have, in or out of class."

Spring 98 "My grade in the class was A.
She is very thorough in explaining the material in ways in which a simple mind can understand them. However, she has a temper and has separated people for talking in class on several occasions. Her tests are a little difficult, but she gives a fair amount of partial credit."

MA141, I took the class in Fall,2000. I give this teacher a 3 out of 4, y grade in the class was D+.
"He's an absolutly nice guy, explains stuff and answers questions at the beginning of class then starts the lesson which is usually just examples. I'm really bad at math and never took calculus in high school so that was my main problem. But he is willing to give you extra help if you want it. His tests were hard but they were what he covered in class."

Spring99 "My grade in the class was A.
Dr. Shearer is super-nice and always willing to help. His tests are generally pretty easy, homework isn't too unreasonable, and he grades pretty nicely on the tests."

Siewert
Ma241

Class : MA241, I took the class in Spring1999 . I give this teacher a 1 out of 4, my grade in the class was F.
"Siewert is a bad teacher. In 241 he just did examples from the book. Attendence was not taken and there was no reason to go to class because he taught examples! When I tried to talk to him about class he got really frustated because I did not understand. Tests were straight from the homework but they were the hardest ones from the homework. Boring and hard. Class was too long."
